At 903 AM EST, an area of heavy lake effect snow will quickly move
inland across the area this morning. This band will rapidly create
snow covered roadways and also reduce visibilities down to less than
a quarter of a mile, especially impacting Interstate 81 from
Pulaski to Watertown.
Locations impacted include...
Watertown, Sandy Island Beach State Park, Fort Drum, Stony Point,
Carthage, Lowville, Pulaski, West Carthage, Adams, Dexter, Redfield,
Glen Park, Herrings, Selkirk Shores State Park, Highmarket, Adams
Center, Southwick Beach State Park, Henderson Harbor, Barnes Corners
and Whetstone Gulf State Park.
This includes Interstate 81 between exits 36 and 48.
Conditions can deteriorate rapidly in winter weather situations. Be
prepared for snow or ice covered roads. Slow down and allow extra
time when traveling.

The strongest wind gusts are expected in the most prone
locations including Centerville, Farmington, and points
northward to the mouth of Weber Canyon. Gusts up to 55 mph are
possible for the remainder of Davis and Weber County and near
Brigham City in Box Elder County.
* WHERE...Davis, Weber and Box Elder County, especially
Centerville, Farmington, and near the mouth of Weber Canyon.
* WHEN...Until noon MST today.
* IMPACTS...High winds may move loose objects and debris, damage
property, and cause power outages. Travel will be difficult,
especially for high profile vehicles beginning late tonight
and through the Tuesday morning commute.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Strong crosswinds are expected for north
and south running routes like US-89, I-15 and the Legacy
Parkway.
A High Wind Warning means a hazardous high wind event is expected
or is occurring. Sustained wind speeds of at least 40 mph or gusts
of 58 mph or more can lead to property damage. Vehicles,
especially high profile vehicles, can be difficult to control at
times in high winds. Motorists should take extra caution,
especially while crossing bridges, overpasses, and unsheltered
areas.
