.A winter storm will impact the region beginning tonight through
Sunday morning. The main shield of precipitation will arrive
between 200 AM and 500 AM, with freezing rain to predominate. The
freezing rain may begin as a brief period of light snow or sleet
with minimal accumulations. The freezing rain will gradually turn
to all rain through the late morning into the early afternoon
Sunday. This icy precipitation will make travel difficult and
dangerous.
* WHAT...Mixed precipitation expected. Total snow accumulations
of up to one inch and ice accumulations of up to two tenths of
an inch.
* WHERE...The Far Northern Piedmont and northern Coastal Plain of
central North Carolina from Winston-Salem to Roxboro to
Halifax.

exceed flood stage at Horton and Nevada.
For the Little Osage River Basin...including Fulton, Horton...Minor
flooding is forecast.
For the Marmaton River Basin...including Nevada, Fort Scott...Minor
flooding is forecast.
The Flood Warning continues for
the Little Osage River near Horton.
* Until late Monday night.
* At 9:45 PM CST Saturday the stage was 40.8 feet.
* Flood stage is 41.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage late
this evening to a crest of 41.5 feet tomorrow morning. It will
then fall below flood stage early Monday morning.
* Impact...At 41.0 feet, minor flooding affects low lying areas near
the gage site and farmland along the river.
* Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 41.5
feet on 11/07/2008.
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

N Highway bridge located 0.2 miles west of Blairstown. Flooding

Blackwater River at Valley City affecting Johnson MO and Pettis
Counties.
The Flood Warning continues for
the Blackwater River at Valley City.
* From this evening to Monday afternoon.
* At 9:00 PM CST Saturday the stage was 22.6 feet.
* Flood stage is 22.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 25.4 feet
tomorrow morning. It will then fall below flood stage tomorrow
afternoon.
* Impact...At 22.0 feet, Woodlands and farm fields along the river
begin to flood.
* Impact...At 25.0 feet, County Highway E near Valley City and
Highway 23 near the Perry State Wildlife Area are under water.
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Brief periods of wintry weather are possible across the Georgia
and South Carolina mountains, and in the I-85 corridor from
Greenville to Charlotte. A mix of sleet, snow, and rain are
possible through early morning, with light freezing rain possible
closer to daybreak, wherever temperatures are below freezing.
Isolated very light accumulations will be possible on elevated
surfaces such a bridges or overpasses. Any winter weather should

the Maries River near Westphalia.
* Until Monday afternoon.
* At 10:00 PM CST Saturday the stage was 9.4 feet.
* Flood stage is 10.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will rise above flood stage late this evening
to 10.8 feet tomorrow morning. It will then fall below flood stage
tomorrow morning, and down to 2.7 feet by Tuesday morning.
* Impact...At 12.1 feet, The north end of County Road 521 begins
flooding adjacent to the river near this height.
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
