NWS San Juan PR
Rip Current Statement issued January 31 at 6:21AM AST until February 3 at 6:00AM AST by NWS San Juan PR
* WHAT...For the High Surf Warning dangerously large breaking
waves of 15 to 20 feet. For the Coastal Flood Warning,
significant coastal flooding expected. For the High Rip
Current Risk, dangerous rip currents.
* WHERE...From the northwest to northeast and west coast of
Puerto Rico, particular for the following coastal locations:
Barrio Espinal in Aguada, El Pueblo and Tamarindo in
Aguadilla; various sections of Hatillo; Barrio Obrero, Pueblo
and Jarealito in Arecibo; La Boca in Barceloneta; Machuca in
Manati; Puerto Nuevo in Vega Baja; and Ocean Park in San Juan;
Pinones along road 187, Parcelas Suarez, Villas del Mar, and
Villa Cristiana in Loiza; and Fortuna in Luquillo.
* WHEN...For the Coastal Flood Warning, until 6 PM AST Monday.
For the High Rip Current Risk, through late Tuesday night.
* IMPACTS...Flooding of lots, parks, and roads along low lying
areas near the coast with some road closures expected. Some
shoreline erosion will occur. Breaking waves can sweep people
off jetties and docks, and into dangerous seas. Life-
threatening swimming conditions and significant beach erosion
can be expected. Rip currents can sweep even the best swimmers
away from shore into deeper water.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...These are the times of the high tides for
today and tonight. For Aguadilla: 10:19 AM AST at 1.38 feet and
10:30 PM AST at 0.91 feet. For Fajardo: 10:47 AM AST at 1.59
feet and 10:54 PM AST at 1.21 feet. For San Juan: 11:17 AM AST
at 1.51 feet and 11:06 PM AST at 0.98 feet.
Take the necessary actions to protect flood-prone property. If
travel is required, do not drive around barricades or through
water of unknown depth.
Everyone should remain out of the water due to life-threatening
surf conditions. Stay off of jetties, piers, and other waterside
infrastructure.

NWS San Juan PR
Coastal Flood Warning issued January 31 at 6:21AM AST until February 1 at 6:00PM AST by NWS San Juan PR
Barrio Espinal in Aguada, El Pueblo and Tamarindo in
Aguadilla; various sections of Hatillo; Barrio Obrero, Pueblo
and Jarealito in Arecibo; La Boca in Barceloneta; Machuca in
Manati; Puerto Nuevo in Vega Baja; and Ocean Park in San Juan;
Pinones along road 187, Parcelas Suarez, Villas del Mar, and

* WHEN...For the Coastal Flood Warning, until 6 PM AST Monday.
For the High Rip Current Risk, through late Tuesday night.
* IMPACTS...Flooding of lots, parks, and roads along low lying
areas near the coast with some road closures expected. Some

off jetties and docks, and into dangerous seas. Life-
threatening swimming conditions and significant beach erosion
can be expected. Rip currents can sweep even the best swimmers
away from shore into deeper water.

today and tonight. For Aguadilla: 10:19 AM AST at 1.38 feet and
10:30 PM AST at 0.91 feet. For Fajardo: 10:47 AM AST at 1.59
feet and 10:54 PM AST at 1.21 feet. For San Juan: 11:17 AM AST
at 1.51 feet and 11:06 PM AST at 0.98 feet.

water of unknown depth.
Everyone should remain out of the water due to life-threatening
surf conditions. Stay off of jetties, piers, and other waterside
infrastructure.

waves of 15 to 20 feet. For the Coastal Flood Warning,
significant coastal flooding expected. For the High Rip
Current Risk, dangerous rip currents.
* WHERE...From the northwest to northeast and west coast of
Puerto Rico, particular for the following coastal locations:
Barrio Espinal in Aguada, El Pueblo and Tamarindo in
Aguadilla; various sections of Hatillo; Barrio Obrero, Pueblo
and Jarealito in Arecibo; La Boca in Barceloneta; Machuca in
Manati; Puerto Nuevo in Vega Baja; and Ocean Park in San Juan;

Some
shoreline erosion will occur.
