The Lower Niagara River...
At 200 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated an area of thunderstorms, capable
of producing winds to around 30 knots and small hail. These
thunderstorms were located along a line extending from 15 nm north
of Sunset Beach to near Fort Niagara, moving east at 55 knots.
Another thunderstorm is near Irondequoit Bay, moving east at 50
knots.
Locations impacted include...
Ontario Beach, Thirty Mile Point, Ontario On The Lake, Olcott, Hamlin
Beach, Wilson, Sunset Beach and Irondequoit Bay.
Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher
waves, and lightning strikes. Boaters should seek safe harbor
immediately until these storms pass.

At 100 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from 6 miles southwest of Reynolds to near Van Buren to
near Hunter to 8 miles east of Handy to near Gatewood, moving
northeast at 50 mph. The most intense part of the storm was located
just south of Fremont. This area may also be producing intense
rainfall, capable of flash flooding.
HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and penny size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.
Locations impacted include...
Van Buren, Ellsinore, Budapest, Hunter, Handy, Fremont, Grandin and
Briar.
For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.
To report severe weather contact your nearest law enforcement agency.
They will send your report to the National Weather Service office in
Paducah.
Continuous cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Move indoors immediately. Lightning is one of nature's leading
killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder, you are close enough to
be struck by lightning.
If on or near Lake Wapappello, get away from the water and move
indoors or inside a vehicle. remember, lightning can strike out to
15 miles from the parent thunderstorm. If you can hear thunder, you

At 234 PM AST, Doppler radar indicated an area of strong
thunderstorms, capable of producing winds to around 30 knots and
frequent lightning. These thunderstorms were located over the local
Atlantic waters at about 25 to 50 nautical miles to the north and
northwest of Puerto Rico, moving southwest at 15 knots.
Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher
waves, and lightning strikes. Boaters should seek safe harbor
immediately until this storm passes.
Intense lightning is occurring with this storm. If caught on the open
water stay below deck if possible, keep away from ungrounded metal
objects.

Special Weather Statement issued April 28 at 1:57PM AST by NWS San Juan PR
At 257 PM AST, a strong thunderstorm was located near Orocovis,
moving southwest at 15 mph.
Winds in excess of 30 mph and pea size hail are possible with this
storm.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm, and may cause
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.
