Special Weather Statement issued June 22 at 4:33PM EDT by NWS Raleigh NC
At 429 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a line of showers and
thunderstorms from Southern Pines to Lillington to Smithfield,
moving southeast at 25 mph.
Brief heavy rain and minor flooding will be possible with these
storms.
Locations impacted include...
Southern Pines, Raeford, Lillington, Fort Bragg, Pinehurst, Dunn,
Aberdeen, Benson and Hoffman.
Locally heavy rain will quickly reduce visibility and result in
ponding of water on roadways, standing water in low lying areas, and
minor flooding of creeks, streams, and areas of poor drainage.
Drivers are urged to slow down and use extra caution to avoid
hydroplaning, especially in urban areas where prolonged heavy rain
can quickly lead to flooding.

NWS New Orleans LA
Flash Flood Watch issued June 22 at 3:49PM CDT until June 22 at 7:00PM CDT by NWS New Orleans LA
The Flash Flood Watch continues for
* Portions of southeast Louisiana and Mississippi, including the
following areas and parishes, in southeast Louisiana, Assumption,
Eastern Orleans, Lower Jefferson, Lower Lafourche, Lower
Plaquemines, Lower St. Bernard, Lower Terrebonne, Northwest St.
Tammany, Southeast St. Tammany, St. Charles, St. James, St. John
The Baptist, Upper Jefferson, Upper Lafourche, Upper Plaquemines,
Upper St. Bernard, Upper Terrebonne and Western Orleans. In
Mississippi, Hancock, Harrison, Jackson and Pearl River.
* Until 7 PM CDT this evening.
* With saturated soils from recent rain, any additional
thunderstorms with efficient rainfall rates could lead to flash
flooding.
* High rainfall rates could overwhelm drainage capacity leading to
ponding of water in low lying and poor drainage areas. Flash
flooding could occur in areas where the heaviest rain falls.
Remain weather aware and be prepared to take action should Flash
Flood Warnings be issued. Remember, never drive through flooded
roadways as the water may be too deep for safe passage.
