NWS Tiyan GU
Hydrologic Outlook issued August 15 at 6:19AM ChST by NWS Tiyan GU
CCA
Tropical Storm 16W is forecast to move towards the Mariana Islands.
The latest forecast track shows the tropical storm passing near or
just south of Guam on Tuesday.
There is the potential for 16W to bring heavy rain to the Marianas...
especially for Guam and Rota Monday night through Tuesday night.
Rainfall estimates indicate 4 to 8 inches of rain is possible across
Guam and Rota...and 3 to 6 inches across Tinian and Saipan.
Uncertainty still exists on the actual track and any deviation will
change the rainfall amounts.
Excessive rainfall can cause localized flooding in low-lying and
poor drainage areas, and rapidly rising streams and rivers.
Check storm drains in your area to make sure they are not clogged.
Make plans to protect property if you live near streams and rivers
or in areas that habitually flood during heavy rain.

have a potential for wind gusts of 35 to 40 knots.
Mariners should prepare for high winds up to 40 knots in any of these
showers or thunderstorms, along with locally rough and confused
seas, occasional lightning strikes, and potentially blinding
downpours. Get to a safe port as quickly, and as safely as possible.
When downpours reduce visibility, slow down.
Stronger showers and thunderstorms will be addressed with Special

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

NWS Key West FL
Marine Weather Statement issued August 15 at 1:56AM EDT by NWS Key West FL
National Weather Service Doppler Radar indicated numerous showers
and isolated thunderstorms in the nearshore and offshore waters of
adjacent to the Upper Keys and also in the western Straits of
Florida and Gulf Waters near the Dry Tortugas. These showers and
storms will have a potential for wind gusts of 35 to 40 knots.
Mariners should prepare for high winds up to 40 knots in any showers
or thunderstorms tonight, along with locally rough and confused
seas, occasional lightning strikes, and potentially blinding
downpours. Get to a safe port as quickly, and as safely as possible.
When downpours reduce visibility, slow down.
Stronger showers and thunderstorms will be addressed with Special
Marine Warnings.

- Damage to porches, awnings, carports, sheds, and unanchored
mobile homes. Unsecured lightweight objects blown about.
- Many large tree limbs broken off. A few trees snapped or
uprooted, but with greater numbers in places where trees
are shallow rooted. Some fences and roadway signs blown
over.
- A few roads impassable from debris, particularly within
urban or heavily wooded places. Hazardous driving

* LOCATIONS AFFECTED
- Southwest
* WIND
- LATEST LOCAL FORECAST: Below tropical storm force wind
- Peak Wind Forecast: 20-30 mph with gusts to 45 mph

- POTENTIAL IMPACTS: Limited
- Damage to porches, awnings, carports, sheds, and unanchored
mobile homes. Unsecured lightweight objects blown about.
- Many large tree limbs broken off. A few trees snapped or
uprooted, but with greater numbers in places where trees
are shallow rooted. Some fences and roadway signs blown
over.
- A few roads impassable from debris, particularly within
urban or heavily wooded places. Hazardous driving
conditions on bridges and other elevated roadways.
