The snowfall was ending from west to east early this morning and no significant additional accumulations of snow are expected at this time. Snowfall was confined generally to areas east of a line from Wilkesboro, to Stuart, to Martinsville, to Danville, to Charlotte Court House. Snowfall amounts ranged from 1/4 to 1/2 inch around Wilkesboro, Pilot Mountain, Danbury, King, Reidsville, and Danville to 1 inch at Stuart. Then further east from Charlotte Court House to South Boston to Yanceyville, snowfall ranged from 1 to 2 inches. Temperatures will remain well below freezing in these areas this morning. In fact it will be bitterly cold this morning as winds increase and temperatures fall mostly in the mid and upper teens by daybreak. Untreated roads and walkways will remain slick and hazardous through the morning hours. Travel through this region is discouraged this morning. If you must travel in this area this morning, please use extreme caution, reduce speed, leave extra distance between you and the vehicle in front of you, and allow extra time to reach your destination. Given the bitterly cold temperatures, conditions will be slow to improve after daybreak. Given the bitter cold, please consider keeping an extra blanket in your vehicle as well as a full set of winter weather attire, such as a heavy coat, gloves, ear muffs, a scarf and/or hat with you in the event that you become stranded. http://www.weather.gov AWIPSidentifier SPSRNK WMOidentifier WWUS81 KRNK 220600 NWSheadline Light Snow Coming to an End, but Snow Covered Roads Will Result in Hazardous Travel Overnight and Early Saturday Morning BLOCKCHANNEL EAS BLOCKCHANNEL NWEM EAS-ORG WXR BLOCKCHANNEL CMAS Surry; Stokes; Rockingham; Caswell; Wilkes; Yadkin; Patrick; Henry; Pittsylvania; Halifax; Charlotte SAME 037171 SAME 037169 SAME 037157 SAME 037033 SAME 037193 SAME 037197 SAME 051141 SAME 051690 SAME 051089 SAME 051590 SAME 051143 SAME 051083 SAME 051037 UGC NCZ003 UGC NCZ004 UGC NCZ005 UGC NCZ006 UGC NCZ019 UGC NCZ020 UGC VAZ032 UGC VAZ043 UGC VAZ044 UGC VAZ058 UGC VAZ059 443 XOUS53 KWBC 220601 CAPDLH urn:oid:2.49.0.1.840.0.16848d0ed2a7c87836d7953b74ec16b6f5be2bb7.005.2 w-nws.webmaster@noaa.gov 2022-01-22T00:01:00-06:00 Actual Alert Public IPAWSv1.0 en-US Met Small Craft Advisory Avoid Expected Minor Likely SAME NWS NationalWeatherService SCY 2022-01-22T00:01:00-06:00 2022-01-22T00:01:00-06:00 2022-01-22T10:00:00-06:00 NWS Duluth MN Small Craft Advisory issued January 22 at 12:01AM CST until January 22 at 10:00AM CST by NWS Duluth MN * WHAT...West to northwest winds 10 to 20 kt with gusts up to 30 kt expected. * WHERE...Two Harbors to Duluth MN, Duluth MN to Port Wing WI and Oak Point to Saxon Harbor WI. * WHEN...Until 10 AM CST Saturday. * IMPACTS...Conditions will be hazardous to small craft. Anyone operating a smaller vessel should avoid navigating in hazardous conditions. http://www.weather.gov AWIPSidentifier MWWDLH WMOidentifier WHUS73 KDLH 220601 NWSheadline HEAVY FREEZING SPRAY WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM CST SATURDAY... ...SMALL CRAFT ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 AM CST SATURDAY... ...GALE WARNING WILL EXPIRE AT MIDNIGHT CST TONIGHT BLOCKCHANNEL EAS BLOCKCHANNEL NWEM VTEC /O.EXP.KDLH.GL.W.0008.000000T0000Z-220122T0600Z/ eventEndingTime 2022-01-22T00:00:00-06:00 BLOCKCHANNEL CMAS expiredReferences w-nws.webmaster@noaa.gov,urn:oid:2.49.0.1.840.0.582cf1a29b0f11deb0315fa8bc2cf43df8577473.001.3,2022-01-21T14:27:00-06:00 w-nws.webmaster@noaa.gov,urn:oid:2.49.0.1.840.0.582cf1a29b0f11deb0315fa8bc2cf43df8577473.002.2,2022-01-21T14:27:00-06:00 w-nws.webmaster@noaa.gov,urn:oid:2.49.0.1.840.0.719ccd8a3d6ef8decda9373e1e1e4c9058dd9b2b.002.3,2022-01-21T09:42:00-06:00 w-nws.webmaster@noaa.gov,urn:oid:2.49.0.1.840.0.719ccd8a3d6ef8decda9373e1e1e4c9058dd9b2b.003.2,2022-01-21T09:42:00-06:00 w-nws.webmaster@noaa.gov,urn:oid:2.49.0.1.840.0.241b0eb9e04bf8e6b199fac401faa6ea56bd4fdf.003.2,2022-01-21T03:16:00-06:00 w-nws.webmaster@noaa.gov,urn:oid:2.49.0.1.840.0.241b0eb9e04bf8e6b199fac401faa6ea56bd4fdf.001.3,2022-01-21T03:16:00-06:00 w-nws.webmaster@noaa.gov,urn:oid:2.49.0.1.840.0.89cd3922a45a916fea575e12e103a6961d1a36dd.001.3,2022-01-20T22:04:00-06:00 w-nws.webmaster@noaa.gov,urn:oid:2.49.0.1.840.0.89cd3922a45a916fea575e12e103a6961d1a36dd.003.2,2022-01-20T22:04:00-06:00 w-nws.webmaster@noaa.gov,urn:oid:2.49.0.1.840.0.494fa6e95bf639aebfe7f018034b649c4df9ce4d.001.3,2022-01-20T14:32:00-06:00 w-nws.webmaster@noaa.gov,urn:oid:2.49.0.1.840.0.494fa6e95bf639aebfe7f018034b649c4df9ce4d.003.2,2022-01-20T14:32:00-06:00 w-nws.webmaster@noaa.gov,urn:oid:2.49.0.1.840.0.375301d1c87cb35b17ef114aee2c7c2c458f8b6a.001.1,2021-11-11T10:02:00-06:00 w-nws.webmaster@noaa.gov,urn:oid:2.49.0.1.840.0.3e1f59db1e6bbd295e131308c35faed0bffb4d8c.001.1,2021-11-11T04:21:00-06:00 w-nws.webmaster@noaa.gov,urn:oid:2.49.0.1.840.0.3ff90294ebb20b47ef8a5bee51d5f128f8e58c60.001.2,2021-11-10T19:16:00-06:00 w-nws.webmaster@noaa.gov,urn:oid:2.49.0.1.840.0.69ad462962233991aa4c3609bd4368fd68baf053.001.2,2021-11-10T15:30:00-06:00 w-nws.webmaster@noaa.gov,urn:oid:2.49.0.1.840.0.e382a81f80c624494f05ab106fd782d2e4c08f5d.001.2,2021-11-10T09:57:00-06:00 w-nws.webmaster@noaa.gov,urn:oid:2.49.0.1.840.0.ecd5d74b7b75d585fcebe94caa606a72896886cd.003.2,2021-11-10T03:29:00-06:00 Port Wing to Sand Island WI; Sand Island to Bayfield WI; Outer Apostle Islands Beyond 5 NM from Mainland SAME 091146 SAME 091147 SAME 091150 UGC LSZ146 UGC LSZ147 UGC LSZ150 448 XOUS53 KWBC 220601 CAPDLH urn:oid:2.49.0.1.840.0.16848d0ed2a7c87836d7953b74ec16b6f5be2bb7.001.1 w-nws.webmaster@noaa.gov 2022-01-22T00:01:00-06:00 Actual Alert Public IPAWSv1.0 en-US Met Gale Warning Avoid Expected Moderate Likely SAME NWS NationalWeatherService GLW 2022-01-22T00:01:00-06:00 2022-01-22T00:01:00-06:00 2022-01-22T10:00:00-06:00 NWS Duluth MN Gale Warning issued January 22 at 12:01AM CST until January 22 at 12:00AM CST by NWS Duluth MN * WHAT...West to northwest winds 10 to 20 kt with gusts up to 30 kt and waves 1 to 4 ft expected. * WHERE...Silver Bay Harbor to Two Harbors MN. * WHEN...Until 10 AM CST Saturday. * IMPACTS...Conditions will be hazardous to small craft.
