NWS Medford OR
Air Stagnation Advisory issued January 22 at 3:28AM PST until January 29 at 4:00AM PST by NWS Medford OR
* WHAT...A period of stagnant air with light winds and poor mixing
is expected.
* WHERE...Portions of northern California and south central and
southwest Oregon, mostly in valley locations.
* WHEN...From 10 PM January 22 to 4 AM PST Saturday January 29.
* IMPACTS...Air stagnation could result in the development and
persistence of deteriorating air quality.
* View the hazard area in detail at
https://www.wrh.noaa.gov/map/?wfo=mfr
State air quality agencies highly recommend that no outdoor
burning occur and that residential wood burning devices be
limited as much as possible. According to state air quality
agencies, prolonged periods of stagnant air can hold pollutants
close to the ground where people live and breathe. Check with
your local burn agency for any current restrictions in your area.

NWS Phoenix AZ
Wind Advisory issued January 22 at 4:43AM MST until January 22 at 5:00PM MST by NWS Phoenix AZ
* WHAT...North winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 45 mph.
* WHERE...In Arizona, Parker Valley. In California, Palo Verde
Valley, Chiriaco Summit, Eastern portion of Joshua Tree
National Park, Western portion of Joshua Tree National Park,
Chuckwalla Valley and Chuckwalla Mountains.
* WHEN...Until 5 PM MST /4 PM PST/ this afternoon.
* IMPACTS...Difficult driving conditions, especially for larger
vehicles traveling along roads with crosswinds. This includes
Interstate 10. Areas of blowing dust will also cause locally
reduced visibility. In addition, light, unsecured objects stored
outside may become airborne.
A Wind Advisory means that sustained wind speeds of between
30 and 40 mph are expected, or wind gusts of between 40 and
58 mph. Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially
for high profile vehicles. In addition, strong winds over desert
areas could result in briefly lowered visibilities to well under
a mile at times in blowing dust or blowing sand. Use extra
caution.

NWS Newport/Morehead City NC
Special Weather Statement issued January 22 at 6:57AM EST by NWS Newport/Morehead City NC
..HAZARDOUS DRIVING CONDITIONS TODAY AND TONIGHT...
Precipitation has ended early this morning, but lingering
snowfall and ice on area roadways will create slippery roads for
most areas this morning. The combination of rising temperatures
and clearing skies will help melt snow and ice on many roadways
this afternoon, but roads will refreeze tonight.
If travel is necessary, slow down and use extra caution. Black
ice is difficult to see and makes roads very slippery, especially
bridges and overpasses. Also, use caution while walking and
traveling. The latest road conditions for North Carolina can be
obtained by visiting DriveNC.gov.
