NWS Duluth MN
Small Craft Advisory issued January 22 at 10:07AM CST until January 22 at 6:00PM CST by NWS Duluth MN
* WHAT...For the Heavy Freezing Spray Warning, heavy freezing
spray at a rate of 2 cm per hour or greater may rapidly
accumulate on vessels. For the Small Craft Advisory, west
winds 15 to 20 kt with gusts up to 25 kt and waves 1 to 4 ft.
* WHERE...Port Wing to Sand Island WI, Sand Island to Bayfield
WI and Outer Apostle Islands Beyond 5 NM from Mainland.
* WHEN...Until 6 PM CST this evening.
* IMPACTS...Operating a vessel in heavy freezing spray is
hazardous. Freezing spray may render mechanical and electronic
components inoperative. Rapid ice accretion on decks and
superstructures may result in a catastrophic loss of stability.
Conditions will be hazardous to small craft.
Mariners should prepare for dangerous accumulation of ice on
their vessel. If possible, remain in port, avoid the warning area
or conduct mitigation.
Anyone operating a smaller vessel should avoid navigating in
hazardous conditions.

NWS Duluth MN
Small Craft Advisory issued January 22 at 10:45AM CST until January 22 at 6:00PM CST by NWS Duluth MN
* WHEN...Until 6 PM CST this evening.
* IMPACTS...Operating a vessel in heavy freezing spray is
hazardous. Freezing spray may render mechanical and electronic
components inoperative. Rapid ice accretion on decks and
superstructures may result in a catastrophic loss of
stability.
