NWS Newport/Morehead City NC
Special Weather Statement issued January 22 at 1:05PM EST by NWS Newport/Morehead City NC
Precipitation has ended early this morning, but lingering
snowfall and ice on area roadways will create slippery roads for
most areas this morning. The combination of rising temperatures
and clearing skies will help melt snow and ice on many roadways
this afternoon, but roads will refreeze tonight.
If travel is necessary, slow down and use extra caution. Black
ice is difficult to see and makes roads very slippery, especially
bridges and overpasses. Also, use caution while walking and
traveling. The latest road conditions for North Carolina can be
obtained by visiting DriveNC.gov.

Special Weather Statement issued January 22 at 12:43PM CST by NWS Green Bay WI
Gusty west winds of 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph will
cause some blowing and drifting of the new snow this afternoon.
Roads and bridges could become snow covered and slippery again,
especially on north-south roads and in open or rural areas.
The gusty winds will quickly diminish by sunset. If you encounter
blowing and drifting snow or snow covered roads, slow down and do
not make any sudden lane changes.
