* WHAT...Flooding caused by rain and snowmelt continues.
* WHERE...The following area, Montana Creek in Juneau.
* WHEN...Until 600 PM AKST Saturday.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 956 AM AKST, river gauge reports indicate rises in water
levels from rain and snowmelt in areas near the low water
crossing on Montana Creek Road and near Back Loop Road at the
Montana Creek bridge. Rapid river rises will cause minor
flooding, especially near Montana Creek. Between 2 and 4
inches of rain have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is
0.2-0.4 inches in 3 hours. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5
to 1.5 inches are possible.
- For Montana Creek at Back Loop Bridge:
At 9:00am the stage was 15.82 feet.
Flood Stage is 15.5 feet.
Forecast: The river crested near 16.08 feet overnight. A slow
fall of water levels is expected through tonight.
Impacts:
At 15.5 feet: Flood stage - 3-6 inches of water at low water
crossing on Montana Creek Road

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Accumulating snow ended several hours ago across south central,
eastern, and southeast Virginia as well as most of the Lower
Eastern Shore and northeast North Carolina. Temperatures will
quickly fall into the teens in most areas tonight and it will stay
below freezing until mid to late Sunday morning. Motorists will
need to be alert for slick spots and patches of black ice,
especially on untreated surfaces, bridges, and overpasses. Allow
for extra time to reach your destination and avoid sudden stops or
accelerations.

* WHEN...From Sunday morning to late Tuesday morning.
* IMPACTS...At 370.0 feet, Coffee Landing Road is flooding just
north of Beason Creek and toward Box Elder Drive. Campsites just
north of the mouth of Beason Creek are flooding. Box Elder Drive
is flooded. Access to sites along Bargeview Lane is cut off.
Diamond Island Drive is flooded at Mud Creek just west of Gammill
Slough Road. The west end of Cross Pond Road is flooding. Slough
just east of Wilkinson Ferry Drive across the river from Saltillo
is beginning to flood.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 1:15 PM CST Saturday the stage was 369.4 feet.
- Forecast...The river will rise above flood stage early
tomorrow afternoon to 370.2 feet early Monday morning. It
will then fall below flood stage late Monday morning to 369.2
feet and begin rising again Tuesday evening. It will rise to
369.3 feet early Wednesday morning. It will then fall again
and remain below flood stage.
