Special Weather Statement issued August 26 at 6:28AM EDT by NWS Raleigh NC
An area of dense fog has formed across the central Piedmont of
North Carolina, including areas from Roxboro to Burlington and
Chapel Hill, continuing south through Sanford to Asheboro and the
Uwharrie National Forest region. Motorists in these areas should
be prepared for quickly changing visibilities and patches of dense
fog that may reduce visibilities to one quarter mile or less. For
your safety, slow down and allow extra distance between you and
the car in front of you. Also, allow extra travel time this
morning to allow for slower travel due to the fog. Conditions will
improve after 9 AM when the fog begins to lift.
