Special Weather Statement issued August 26 at 11:01AM EDT by NWS Albany NY
At 1101 AM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Lake Luzerne Campground, or near Lake George Village, moving
northeast at 25 mph.
HAZARD...Winds in excess of 30 mph and pea size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is
possible.
Locations impacted include...
Glens Falls, Warrensburg, Lake George Village, Hartford, Comstock,
Lake Luzerne Campground, Glens Falls North, Bolton Landing, Lake
Luzerne-Hadley, Queensbury, Kingsbury, Mount Hope, Bolton, Lake
George, Stony Creek, Fort Ann, Shelving Rock, Thurman Station,
Cleverdale and South Bay.
This includes Interstate 87 between exits 19 and 23.

* IMPACTS...Strong currents can pull swimmers into deeper water
and high waves can sweep people off piers.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Winds will increase to around 20 mph this
afternoon. Waves will build and peak in the late afternoon in
the 2 to 5 foot range. Given winds will be from the north, the
most dangerous places to swim today will be on the incoming

side of north piers.

and do not venture out on piers. Please check with your local
authorities on potential beach closures.
