NWS Amarillo TX
Special Weather Statement issued November 13 at 4:02AM CST by NWS Amarillo TX
A vigorous upper level storm system is expected to move just south
of the Texas Panhandle on Monday. Precipitation may start off as
rain or rain mixed with snow late tonight in the western
Panhandles, but will quickly switch over to all snow by sunrise
Monday. The snow will then spread across the rest of the
Panhandles during the day on Monday. Total snowfall accumulation
of 1 to 3 inches will be possible across the Oklahoma Panhandle
and the northern Texas Panhandle with up to 1 inch across the
southern Texas Panhandle. The snow will end from west to east
during the late afternoon Monday. Gusty north winds may reduce the
visibility in blowing snow. Roads may become slick and snow-packed.
The snow may affect the morning and evening commute.
Be weather aware and keep up to date with the latest forecasts.

NWS Reno NV
Special Weather Statement issued November 13 at 2:10AM PST by NWS Reno NV
* While most of the snow has ended across the region, cold
overnight temperatures will lead to slick and icy conditions
across eastern California and western Nevada through the morning
hours. The greatest threat for black ice will be to bridges and
overpasses, elevated roads, and untreated secondary/side
streets. This is particularly the case for locations that
received snow after sunset Saturday.
* It can be very difficult to know if a surface you are driving on
is wet or frozen, especially at night. If you approach an area
that appears wet, reduce your speed considerably and try to
avoid sudden braking, accelerating, or sharp steering, as this
can cause a loss of traction. Leave a lot of space between you
and other vehicles. As always, check with NDOT or Caltrans for
the latest road conditions and chain controls.
