NWS Baltimore MD/Washington DC
Marine Weather Statement issued February 4 at 12:01AM EST by NWS Baltimore MD/Washington DC
Strong northwesterly winds continue across the region, which is
resulting in sharp drops in tidal anomalies, especially in the
northern Chesapeake Bay north of Annapolis. Tidal anomalies are
running 1 to 2 feet below mean lower low water.
Mariners should check navigation charts and be careful not to
ground your vessel, particularly when venturing away from the main
channel.

to small craft.
Mariners should prepare for accumulation of ice on their vessel
and consider altering plans to avoid or mitigate these hazardous
navigating conditions.
Inexperienced mariners, especially those operating smaller
vessels, should avoid navigating in hazardous conditions.

NWS Buffalo NY
Small Craft Advisory issued February 4 at 12:21AM EST until February 4 at 7:00AM EST by NWS Buffalo NY
* WHAT...For the Heavy Freezing Spray Warning, heavy freezing
spray at a rate of 2 cm per hour or greater may rapidly
accumulate on vessels. For the Small Craft Advisory, northwest
winds 15 to 25 knots and waves 5 to 8 feet.
* WHERE...The nearshore waters of Lake Ontario from Hamlin Beach
to Sodus Bay.
* WHEN...For the Heavy Freezing Spray Warning, until 4 AM EST
early this morning. For the Small Craft Advisory, until 7 AM
EST this morning.
* IMPACTS...Operating a vessel in heavy freezing spray is
hazardous. Freezing spray may render mechanical and electronic
components inoperative. Rapid ice accretion on decks and
superstructures may result in a catastrophic loss of
stability. Winds and/or waves will cause hazardous conditions
that could capsize or damage small craft.
Mariners should prepare for dangerous accumulation of ice on
their vessel. If possible, remain in port, avoid the warning area
or conduct mitigation.
Inexperienced mariners, especially those operating smaller
vessels, should avoid navigating in hazardous conditions.

Heavy Freezing Spray Warning issued February 4 at 12:21AM EST until February 4 at 4:00AM EST by NWS Buffalo NY
* WHAT...For the Heavy Freezing Spray Warning, heavy freezing
spray at a rate of 2 cm per hour or greater may rapidly
accumulate on vessels. For the Small Craft Advisory, northwest

NWS Buffalo NY
Heavy Freezing Spray Warning issued February 4 at 12:21AM EST until February 4 at 4:00AM EST by NWS Buffalo NY
* WHAT...For the Heavy Freezing Spray Warning, heavy freezing
spray at a rate of 2 cm per hour or greater may rapidly
accumulate on vessels. For the Small Craft Advisory, northwest
winds 15 to 25 knots and waves 5 to 8 feet.
* WHERE...The nearshore waters of Lake Ontario from Hamlin Beach
to Sodus Bay.
* WHEN...For the Heavy Freezing Spray Warning, until 4 AM EST
early this morning. For the Small Craft Advisory, until 7 AM
EST this morning.
* IMPACTS...Operating a vessel in heavy freezing spray is
hazardous. Freezing spray may render mechanical and electronic
components inoperative. Rapid ice accretion on decks and
superstructures may result in a catastrophic loss of
stability. Winds and/or waves will cause hazardous conditions
that could capsize or damage small craft.
Mariners should prepare for dangerous accumulation of ice on
their vessel. If possible, remain in port, avoid the warning area
or conduct mitigation.
Inexperienced mariners, especially those operating smaller
vessels, should avoid navigating in hazardous conditions.

NWS Wakefield VA
Heavy Freezing Spray Advisory issued February 4 at 12:43AM EST until February 4 at 7:00AM EST by NWS Wakefield VA
* WHAT...For the Small Craft Advisory, north winds 15 to 25 kt
with gusts up to 30 kt and waves 2 to 4 ft. For the Freezing
Spray Advisory, light to moderate accumulation of freezing
spray.
* WHERE...Chesapeake Bay from New Point Comfort to Little Creek
VA and Chesapeake Bay from Little Creek VA to Cape Henry VA
including the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel.
* WHEN...Until 7 AM EST this morning.
* IMPACTS...Operating a vessel in freezing spray is hazardous.
Freezing spray may render mechanical and electronic components
inoperative. Ice accretion on decks and superstructures may
result in some loss of stability. Conditions will be hazardous
to small craft.
Mariners should prepare for accumulation of ice on their vessel
and consider altering plans to avoid or mitigate these hazardous
navigating conditions.
Inexperienced mariners, especially those operating smaller
vessels, should avoid navigating in hazardous conditions.

Rip Current Statement issued February 4 at 3:56PM ChST until February 7 at 4:00PM ChST by NWS Tiyan GU
* WHAT...Dangerous rip currents.
* WHERE...East facing reefs of the Marianas.
* WHEN...Through Tuesday afternoon.
* IMPACTS...Rip currents can sweep even the best swimmers away
from shore into deeper water.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The east swell is expected to decrease
slightly through Sunday, and may allow the risk of rip
currents to become moderate. However, the east swell is
expected to build again Sunday night causing the rip current
risk to become high again through at least Tuesday afternoon.
Swim near a lifeguard. If caught in a rip current, relax and
float. Don't swim against the current. If able, swim in a
direction following the shoreline. If unable to escape, face the
shore and call or wave for help.
