.Snow is expected to spread into the Tennessee Valley and southern
Appalachian region Friday morning. Snow will continue through the
afternoon and evening, then taper off Friday night. Several inches
of snow are expected, potentially causing significant travel
impacts. The snow may mix with or change to sleet and freezing rain
in some areas, with light ice accumulation possible.
* WHAT...Heavy snow and mixed precipitation possible. Widespread
snow accumulations between 2 and 4 inches with up to 6 inches
possible. Mixture of sleet and freezing rain possible south of
I-40 with light ice accumulation possible.
* WHERE...Portions of southwest North Carolina, East Tennessee, and
southwest Virginia.
* WHEN...From Friday morning through Saturday morning.
* IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous
conditions could impact the Friday morning and evening commutes.

The National Weather Service in Cheyenne has issued a
* Snow Squall Warning for...
Southeastern Laramie County in southeastern Wyoming...
* Until 345 AM MST.
* At 312 AM MST, a dangerous snow squall was located near Hillsdale,
or 12 miles northeast of Cheyenne, moving southeast at 50 mph.
HAZARD...Intense bursts of heavy snow. Gusty winds up to 60 MPH
leading to blowing snow and rapidly falling visibility.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Travel will become difficult and potentially dangerous
within minutes.
This includes the following highways...
Interstate 25 in Wyoming between mile markers 1 and 20.
Interstate 80 in Wyoming between mile markers 355 and 402.
Locations impacted include...
Cheyenne, Pine Bluffs, Burns, Albin, Egbert, Laramie County

* WHAT...Heavy mixed precipitation expected including mainly snow
and sleet. Total snow and sleet accumulations between 2 and 5
inches. Isolated snowfall totals between 8 and 10 inches may occur
in a few areas. Some light icing may occur.
* WHERE...Portions of north central and northeast Texas.
* WHEN...Until noon CST Friday.
* IMPACTS...Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will
likely become slick and hazardous. Travel could be very difficult
to impossible. The hazardous conditions could impact the Thursday
morning and evening commutes.
If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in
your vehicle in case of an emergency. The latest road conditions can
be found at drivetexas.org.
Persons should delay travel if possible. If travel is absolutely
necessary, drive with extreme caution and be prepared for sudden
changes in visibility. Leave plenty of room between you and the
motorist ahead of you, and allow extra time to reach your
destination. Avoid sudden braking or acceleration, and be especially
cautious on hills or when making turns. Make sure your car is
winterized and in good working order.
