NWS Albany NY
Special Weather Statement issued February 27 at 3:31AM EST by NWS Albany NY
A fast moving area of snow continues to overspread the region
early this morning producing a quick coating to 1 of snow before
changing to rain between 6 and 9 am. Temperatures will hover
around 32 degrees during the transition from snow to rain so
pockets of freezing rain will be possible before temperatures rise
above freezing later this morning.
Between the light snow accumulations plus potential for a glaze
of ice from freezing rain, slippery travel conditions are possible
during today's morning commute. Motorists should travel
cautiously this morning by slowing down and allow extra time.

NWS Greenville-Spartanburg SC
Special Weather Statement issued February 27 at 3:43AM EST by NWS Greenville-Spartanburg SC
Dead brush and leaf litter, which can serve as fuels for
wildfires, have steadily dried out over the past few days given a
lack of rainfall and persistent warm, dry air over the region.
A cold front will pass through Northeast Georgia this afternoon
and early evening, but it is not expected to bring any rainfall
so fuel moistures are expected to remain low. Winds will increase
to around 15 mph ahead of the front, and gusts of up to 25 mph
are expected at times. The combination of dry fuels and gusty
winds will lead to an increased danger of wildfires in northeast
Georgia.
Please refer to your local burn permitting authorities on whether
you can burn today. If you do burn, use extreme caution since
fires can quickly get out of hand under these conditions.
