* IMPACTS...At 9.0 feet, Minor flooding begins. Farmlands and
timberlands adjacent to the river in Roanoke Rapids flood.
Property on the farmlands may be at risk from floodwaters.
At 10.0 feet, The public boat ramp on Rockfish Ln in Weldon is
flooded.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 4:45 AM EST Thursday the stage was 9.6 feet.
- Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
ending at 4:45 AM EST Thursday was 9.7 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 9.7
feet this morning. It will then fall below flood stage late
this evening.

* WHAT...South winds 10 to 15 kt with gusts up to 25 kt,
becoming west to northwest 10 to 20 kt with gusts up to 25 kt
late Thursday afternoon and evening. A few gusts around 30 kt
are possible Thursday midday through afternoon as the wind
shifts.
* WHERE...Tidal Potomac River from Key Bridge to Cobb Island MD,
Chesapeake Bay north of Sandy Point MD, Patapsco River
including Baltimore Harbor, Chester River to Queenstown MD,
and Eastern Bay.
* WHEN...From 4 AM Thursday to midnight EST Thursday night.
* IMPACTS...Conditions will be hazardous to small craft.
Inexperienced mariners, especially those operating smaller
vessels, should avoid navigating in hazardous conditions.
