NWS Greenville-Spartanburg SC
Special Weather Statement issued February 27 at 6:12PM EST by NWS Greenville-Spartanburg SC
Although winds are expected to be lighter on Friday, elevated fire
danger will persist thanks to the return of low relative humidity
values. Gusty winds and low relative humidity will both return on
Saturday, with gusts of 25-30 mph expected. The main threat for
increased fire danger will be during the daytime hours, especially
during the afternoon hours.
Please refer to your local burn permitting authorities on whether
you can burn today. If you do burn, use extreme caution since
fires can quickly get out of hand under these conditions.

Special Weather Statement issued February 27 at 2:23PM AKST by NWS Juneau AK
As a storm force low moves into the gulf it will steer moisture
and wind back into the Panhandle. While surface temperatures along
the Haines Highway remain above freezing, and snow levels are
near 1500ft, there is potential to see 2 to 4 inches of snow
Friday morning out the road near the Chilkat River Bridge west
towards the border.
Snowfall will be directly tied to precipitation rates, where
these heavy rates have the ability to drop snow levels down to the
surface for a few hours. If we do not get heavy rates, out the
road remains all rain or briefly a mix of rain/snow. The city of
Haines should remain all rain.
We are watching this storms's evolution closely and will update
messaging and the forecast when the need arises.

Beach Hazards Statement issued February 27 at 3:43PM PST until February 28 at 12:00AM PST by NWS Eureka CA
* WHAT...Increased threat of sneaker waves expected.
* WHERE...Coastal Del Norte, Northern Humboldt Coast,
Southwestern Humboldt and Mendocino Coast Counties.
* WHEN...Until midnight PST tonight.
* IMPACTS...Large, unexpected waves can sweep across the beach
without warning, sweeping people into the sea from rocks,
jetties, and beaches. These sneaker waves can also move large
objects such as logs, crushing anyone caught underneath.
Don't be fooled by an ocean that looks calm. There can be
30 minutes of small waves before a sneaker wave strikes. Avoid
rocks and jetties. Avoid steep beaches. Stay much farther back
from the water and never turn your back on the ocean.
