Beach Hazards Statement issued March 2 at 2:08AM EST until March 3 at 3:00AM EST by NWS Melbourne FL
* WHAT...A strong southward-flowing longshore current will exist
at all central Florida Atlantic beaches today, in addition to a
moderate risk for dangerous rip currents.
* WHERE...Coastal Volusia, Brevard, Indian River, Saint Lucie, and
Martin Counties.
* WHEN...Through late tonight.
* IMPACTS...The southward-flowing current could pull swimmers into
deeper water, making them more susceptible to dangerous rip
currents. It will also generate strong rip currents near piers,
jetties, and reefs.
Swim near a lifeguard. If caught in a rip current, relax and
float. Don't swim against the current. If able, swim in a
direction following the shoreline. If unable to escape, face the

NWS Midland/Odessa TX
High Wind Warning issued March 2 at 12:28AM MST until March 2 at 8:00PM MST by NWS Midland/Odessa TX
* WHAT...West winds 30 to 40 mph with gusts up to 65 mph expected.
* WHERE...In New Mexico, Eddy County Plains. In Texas, Eastern
Culberson County.

in these mountainous areas. People driving high-profile vehicles
should strongly consider postponing travel in these areas until the
winds subside.
Use caution if flying low near the mountains as severe turbulence is
possible.

NWS Gray ME
Heavy Freezing Spray Advisory issued March 2 at 2:47AM EST until March 3 at 7:00AM EST by NWS Gray ME
* WHAT...For the Gale Warning, northwest winds 20 to 25 kt with
gusts up to 35 kt and seas 5 to 7 ft. For the Freezing Spray
Advisory, moderate accumulation of freezing spray expected.
* WHERE...Coastal Waters from Stonington, ME to Port Clyde, ME
out 25 NM, Coastal Waters from Port Clyde, ME to Cape
Elizabeth, ME out 25 NM and Coastal Waters from Cape
Elizabeth, ME to Merrimack River, MA out 25 NM.
* WHEN...For the Gale Warning, until 7 AM EST this morning. For
the Freezing Spray Advisory, until 7 AM EST Monday.
* IMPACTS...Operating a vessel in freezing spray is hazardous.
Freezing spray may render mechanical and electronic components
inoperative. Ice accretion on decks and superstructures may
result in some loss of stability. Strong winds will cause
hazardous seas which could capsize or damage vessels and
reduce visibility.
Mariners should consider altering plans to avoid or mitigate
hazardous accumulation of ice on their vessel. During freezing
spray conditions the U.S. Coast Guard advises that you ensure all
lifesaving equipment remains free of ice.
Mariners should alter plans to avoid these hazardous conditions.
Remain in port, seek safe harbor, alter course, and/or secure the
vessel for severe conditions.

NWS Gray ME
Heavy Freezing Spray Advisory issued March 2 at 2:47AM EST until March 3 at 7:00AM EST by NWS Gray ME
* WHAT...For the Small Craft Advisory, northwest winds 15 to 20
kt with gusts up to 30 kt and seas 2 to 5 ft. For the Freezing
Spray Advisory, moderate accumulation of freezing spray
expected.
* WHERE...Penobscot Bay and Casco Bay.
* WHEN...For the Small Craft Advisory, until 10 PM EST this
evening. For the Freezing Spray Advisory, until 7 AM EST
Monday.
* IMPACTS...Operating a vessel in freezing spray is hazardous.
Freezing spray may render mechanical and electronic components
inoperative. Ice accretion on decks and superstructures may
result in some loss of stability. Conditions will be hazardous
to small craft.
Mariners should consider altering plans to avoid or mitigate
hazardous accumulation of ice on their vessel. During freezing
spray conditions the U.S. Coast Guard advises that you ensure all
lifesaving equipment remains free of ice.
Inexperienced mariners, especially those operating smaller
vessels, should avoid navigating in hazardous conditions.
