NWS Hanford CA
Flood Advisory issued March 2 at 2:47PM PST until March 2 at 5:45PM PST by NWS Hanford CA
* WHAT...Possible flooding can occur, especially with thunderstorms
nearing the burn scar.
* WHERE...Borel Burn Scar in Havilah Kern County.
* WHEN...Until 545 PM PST.
* IMPACTS...Water over roadways.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 244 PM PST, Flooding may begin near the Borel Burn Scar as
thunderstorms approach.
- Borel Burn Scar is the most likely place to experience minor
flooding.
- http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Move away from recently burned areas. Life-threatening flooding of
creeks, roads and normally dry arroyos is likely. The heavy rains
will likely trigger rockslides, mudslides and debris flows in steep
terrain, especially in and around these areas.
