Snow is beginning to spread northward from the AK Range and will be starting by 4 PM to 6 PM in most spots around Fairbanks. It still may be heavy at times with visibility around 1 mile or less possible. 2 to 4 inches of snow is still possible by Friday morning. There will be bands of heavier embedded snow, so there is a 20 % probability to see higher snowfall totals of 3 to 5 inches. *IF* we notice changes in snowfall totals, we will issue a winter weather advisory as necessary. As of 645 pm...there were NO reports of any on-going flooding. However, we have received some recent reports of Ice Jams along the AuSable river between Keene and Upper Jay as well as the Winooski river between Moretown and Waterbury. At this time, no flooding was occurring in these areas. We're sure there are other rivers across Vermont and northern New York that likely have ice moving with scattered Ice Jams but no flooding has been reported. Waterways are experiencing higher levels and flows than several days ago, but are well within their banks and should remain that way unless an ice jam develops and blocks the flow of water. This is just a precautionary statement for those that live along waterways that have ice or have experienced ice jam flooding in the past. Closely monitor waterways near you and at the first signs of rapidly rising water, seek higher ground and once you're safe, please report any flooding to local public safety officials and ask them to relay those reports to the National Weather Service in Burlington. Colder temperatures later tonight and through the weekend will put an end to any snowmelt allowing water levels to recede and lessen any potential isolated threat of Ice Jam flooding. http://www.weather.gov AWIPSidentifier SPSBTV WMOidentifier WWUS81 KBTV 062346 NWSheadline Monitor Local Waterways Tonight for Possible Isolated Ice Jam Flooding BLOCKCHANNEL EAS BLOCKCHANNEL NWEM EAS-ORG WXR BLOCKCHANNEL CMAS Eastern Clinton; Western Clinton; Western Essex; Eastern Essex; Western Franklin; Orleans; Essex; Western Chittenden; Lamoille; Caledonia; Washington; Western Addison; Orange; Western Rutland; Eastern Franklin; Eastern Chittenden; Eastern Addison; Eastern Rutland; Western Windsor; Eastern Windsor SAME 036019 SAME 036031 SAME 050011 SAME 050019 SAME 050009 SAME 050007 SAME 050015 SAME 050005 SAME 050023 SAME 050001 SAME 050017 SAME 050021 SAME 050027 UGC NYZ028 UGC NYZ031 UGC NYZ034 UGC NYZ035 UGC VTZ002 UGC VTZ003 UGC VTZ004 UGC VTZ005 UGC VTZ006 UGC VTZ007 UGC VTZ008 UGC VTZ009 UGC VTZ010 UGC VTZ011 UGC VTZ016 UGC VTZ017 UGC VTZ018 UGC VTZ019 UGC VTZ020 UGC VTZ021 599 XOUS55 KWBC 062349 CAPWBC urn:oid:2.49.0.1.840.0-KEEPALIVE-33650 w-nws.webmaster@noaa.gov 2025-03-06T23:49:09-00:00 Test Alert Public IPAWSv1.0 This is only a test for monitoring of vital dissemination systems. en-US Met Test Message None Unknown Unknown Unknown SAME NWS NationalWeatherService TST 2025-03-06T23:49:09-00:00 2025-03-06T23:59:09-00:00 NWS Monitoring message only.
