NWS Pendleton OR
Winter Storm Warning issued March 14 at 3:31AM PDT until March 16 at 11:00PM PDT by NWS Pendleton OR
* WHAT...Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 1 to 3
feet above 4000 feet along the Cascade crest, and total snow
accumulations of up to 4 inches below 4000 feet. Winds gusting as
high as 45 mph.
* WHERE...East Slopes of the Oregon Cascades.
* WHEN...From 8 AM this morning to 11 PM PDT Sunday.
* IMPACTS...Heavy snowfall and very low visibility will create
extremely dangerous driving conditions. Gusty winds could bring
down tree branches.
Persons should consider delaying all travel. If travel is absolutely
necessary, drive with extreme caution. Consider taking a winter
storm kit along with you, including such items as tire chains,
booster cables, flashlight, shovel, blankets and extra clothing.
Also take water, a first aid kit, and anything else that would help
you survive in case you become stranded.
Do not touch downed lines and report any power outages to your
electric company. Travel is highly discouraged due to slick roadways
and the possibility of downed trees and power lines.
