NWS Quad Cities IA IL
Special Weather Statement issued March 17 at 12:36PM CDT by NWS Quad Cities IA IL
Another day with windy conditions is expected across eastern Iowa,
northwest Illinois, and northeast Missouri with sustained southerly
winds between 25 to 35 mph, gusting as high as 40 to 50 mph. The
strong winds will lead to difficult travel conditions, especially
for high profile vehicles and may blow around unsecured objects.
Low relative humidity, combined with the gusty winds, will lead
to critical fire weather conditions as well, and a Red Flag
Warning is in effect area-wide. Winds will quickly subside this
evening and the fire weather threat will gradually diminish.
