NWS Lubbock TX
Red Flag Warning issued March 18 at 11:41PM CDT until March 19 at 7:00PM CDT by NWS Lubbock TX
* Timing...Until 7 pm CDT Wednesday.
* Wind...West at 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 50 mph shifting to
the northwest after sunrise.
* Humidity...From 7 to 11 percent.
* Fuels...Critically to extremely dry.
* Impacts...Any fires that develop will spread rapidly and will
have the potential to grow into dangerous wind-driven
wildfires that will be difficult or impossible to control.
Avoid all outdoor burning and take extreme care to avoid any
activity that may cause a spark. Do not park or drive your
vehicle over grassy areas or dry vegetation. Report fires to
local authorities immediately.
A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.
