...BLIZZARD CONDITIONS WEDNESDAY MORNING...
.Widespread snow and blowing snow is expected along and north of US
50 Wednesday morning. Intense snowfall rates and winds of 50 to 70
mph will reduce visibility to zero at times. While actual snow
amounts will be relatively modest, travel will be difficult to
dangerous as the snow falls. Snow will end rapidly west to east
Wednesday afternoon.
* WHAT...Blizzard conditions expected. Total snow accumulations up

* WHERE...Portions of central, south central, southwest, and west
central Kansas.
* WHEN...Until 1 PM CDT this afternoon.
* IMPACTS...Visibilities may drop below 1/4 mile due to falling and
blowing snow. Plan on slippery road conditions. Widespread blowing
snow will significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous
conditions will impact the Wednesday morning commute. Very strong
winds and wet snow accumulations may damage trees and power
infrastructure, resulting in power outages.
Travel should be restricted to emergencies only. If you must travel,
have a winter survival kit with you. If you get stranded, stay with
your vehicle. The latest road conditions for the state you are
calling from can be obtained by calling 5 1 1.
Persons should consider delaying all travel. If travel is absolutely
necessary, drive with extreme caution. Consider taking a winter
storm kit along with you, including such items as tire chains,
booster cables, flashlight, shovel, blankets and extra clothing.
Also take water, a first aid kit, and anything else that would help
you survive in case you become stranded.

NWS Dodge City KS
Blizzard Warning issued March 19 at 12:46AM CDT until March 19 at 1:00PM CDT by NWS Dodge City KS
...BLIZZARD CONDITIONS WEDNESDAY MORNING...
.Widespread snow and blowing snow is expected Wednesday morning,
with the heaviest snow along and north of US 50, and northeast of
Dodge City. While several inches of snow will accumulate mainly on
elevated surfaces, the key message is intense snowfall rates
combined with wind gusts of 50 to 75 mph will reduce visibility to
zero at times. Travel will be difficult to dangerous Wednesday
morning. Snow will end rapidly west to east Wednesday afternoon.
* WHAT...Blizzard conditions expected. Total snow accumulations
between 2 and 5 inches. Locally higher amounts. Winds gusting as
high as 75 mph.
* WHERE...Portions of central, south central, southwest, and west
central Kansas.
* WHEN...Until 1 PM CDT this afternoon.
* IMPACTS...Visibilities may drop below 1/4 mile due to falling and
blowing snow. Plan on slippery road conditions. Widespread blowing
snow will significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous
conditions will impact the Wednesday morning commute. The
combination of wet snow accumulation and intense winds may cause
tree and power line damage, and resulting power outages.
