NWS Hastings NE
Blizzard Warning issued March 19 at 11:09AM CDT until March 19 at 4:00PM CDT by NWS Hastings NE
* WHAT...Blizzard conditions. Additional snow accumulations between
1 and 4 inches will be possible. Northerly winds gusting near 60
to 65 mph at times.
* WHERE...Portions of north central Kansas and central, east
central, and south central Nebraska.
* WHEN...Until 4 PM CDT this afternoon.
* IMPACTS...Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will
become slick and hazardous. Visibilities may drop below 1/4 mile
due to falling and blowing snow. The strong winds and weight of
snow on tree limbs may down power lines and could cause sporadic
power outages. Plan on hazardous conditions.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Despite the wet nature of the snow, very
strong winds will cause at least some blowing and drifting snow,
with significant snow drifts possible across parts of the local
area.
Travel should be restricted to emergencies only. If you must travel,
have a winter survival kit with you. If you get stranded, stay with
your vehicle. The latest road conditions for the state you are
calling from can be obtained by calling 5 1 1.
A Blizzard Warning means severe winter weather conditions are
expected or occurring. Falling and blowing snow with strong winds
are likely. This will lead to whiteout conditions, making travel
extremely dangerous. Do not travel. If you must travel, have a
winter survival kit with you. If you get stranded, stay in your
vehicle.

NWS La Crosse WI
Winter Storm Warning issued March 19 at 11:30AM CDT until March 19 at 10:00PM CDT by NWS La Crosse WI
...HEAVY SNOW, STRONG WINDS IMPACTING TRAVEL...
.Bands of snow continue to push northward across the region, and will
persist through the afternoon hours. The main snow band, capable of
producing a narrow 8+ inch strip of heavy wet snow, still looks to
extend from north central Iowa, across southeast Minnesota into
northeast Wisconsin. Visibilities 1/4 mile or less were common with
the heaviest snow with 1" per hour snowfall rates.
North winds were gusting 40 to 55 mph across northern Iowa, and
winds will continue on the increase north and east of there moving
into the afternoon. The strongest winds, when coupled with the
heavier snowfall rates, will be capable of white-out conditions.
While some roads have remained wet from the snow, where the snowfall
was heavier they quickly become snow covered and slick to hazardous.
An additional travel hazard to the reduced visibilties. Expect
travel conditions to worsen through the afternoon across much of
southeast Minnesota and northeast Iowa where the snow and winds will
be at their peaks. Check on the latest road condition and forecasts
before heading out. Adjust, abandon travel plans if conditions
warrant it.
* WHAT...Heavy snow. Additional accumulations between 1 and 6
inches. Winds gusting as high as 45 mph.
* WHERE...Portions of southeast Minnesota and central, north
central, and west central Wisconsin.
* WHEN...Until 10 PM CDT this evening.
* IMPACTS...Plan on slippery to hazardous road conditions. The
hazardous conditions could impact the Wednesday evening commute.
Gusty winds could bring down tree branches.
If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in
your vehicle in case of an emergency. In Minnesota, visit 511mn.org
for road conditions. In Wisconsin, visit 511wi.gov for road
conditions.

NWS La Crosse WI
Winter Weather Advisory issued March 19 at 11:30AM CDT until March 19 at 10:00PM CDT by NWS La Crosse WI
...HEAVY SNOW, STRONG WINDS IMPACTING TRAVEL...
.Bands of snow continue to push northward across the region, and will
persist through the afternoon hours.
Adjust, abandon travel plans if conditions
warrant it.
* WHAT...Snow with accumulations between 1 and 3 inches. Winds
gusting from 35 to 50 mph.
* WHERE...Portions of northeast Iowa, southeast Minnesota, and
central, southwest, and west central Wisconsin.
* WHEN...Until 10 PM CDT this evening.
* IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous
conditions could impact the Wednesday evening commute. Strong
winds could cause tree damage.
Slow down and use caution while traveling. In Iowa, visit 511ia.org
for road conditions. In Minnesota, visit 511mn.org for road
conditions. In Wisconsin, visit 511wi.gov for road conditions.
