* IMPACTS...At 17.0 feet, Several thousand acres of agricultural and
lowland become inundated.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 9:45 PM CDT Tuesday the stage was 16.7 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
Wednesday morning and continue rising to a crest of 17.3 feet
early Thursday morning before falling over the next several
days.
- Flood stage is 15.0 feet.
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.
* WHERE...Mississippi River at Natchez.
* WHEN...Until Tuesday, April 01.
* IMPACTS...At 38.0 feet, Lowlands along the river in areas not
protected by levees begin to flood. On both side of the river,
there are areas that contain oil and gas wells; however, these are
not affected until higher stages.
At 43.0 feet, Water covers Thornburg Lake Road in the area known
as Anna's Bottom which is north of Natchez. Also, Lake Mary Road
is under water.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 9:00 PM CDT Tuesday the stage was 38.9 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 40.7
feet early Friday morning before slowly falling over the next
several days.
- Action stage is 38.0 feet.
- Flood stage is 48.0 feet.

alternative route.
