LOCATION AND MOVEMENT...At 1000 AM EDT, a band of heavy snow was
along a line extending from near Nanticoke to near Chemung and moving
east at 30 MPH.
LOCATIONS IMPACTED INCLUDE...
Campville, Nichols, Apalachin, Two Rivers State Park, Lockwood,
Chenango Valley State Park, Tioga Terrace, Endicott, Maine, and
Chenango Forks.

Use extra caution if you must travel into or through this band of
heavy snow. Rapid changes in visibility and potentially slick roads
may lead to accidents.

.Very dry conditions will develop again this afternoon. While
winds will not be quite as strong on the whole as they were on
Tuesday, they will once again be gusty and erratic, and localized
areas may see winds similar to Tuesday's. Winds will remain
elevated throughout the afternoon, then taper off around sunset.
Fine fuel moisture is expected to once again fall to below 10%
during the afternoon hours, which in conjunction with
aforementioned dry and gusty weather will be favorable for the
rapid spread of wildfires across the warned area.
The National Weather Service in Greenville-Spartanburg has issued
a Red Flag Warning for wind and low relative humidity, which is
in effect until 8 PM EDT this evening.
* AFFECTED AREA...Swain, Haywood, Graham and North Carolina
Portion of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
* TIMING...Until 8 PM EDT this evening.
* WINDS...Northwest 5 to 15 mph with gusts up to 30 mph.
* HUMIDITY...As low as 15%.
* FUEL MOISTURE...10-hour fuel moisture expected to fall below
10% this afternoon.
* IMPACTS...Any fire that develops will catch and spread
quickly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.

This afternoon will again be very dry, with minimum relative
humidity in the 15-20% range expected across much of the region.
While winds are not expected to be quite as strong today, gusts of
at least 25mph are expected during the afternoon, continuing the
enhanced fire danger conditions.
The greatest fire danger will exist across much of the mountains,
and portions of the foothills and Piedmont of upstate South
Carolina and northeast Georgia, where a Red Flag Warning is in

A statewide burn ban remains in place for both North Carolina and
South Carolina.

Light snow develops Wednesday evening from the Alaska Range
northward. Snow may continue through Thursday evening. The main
concern will be snow melting on pavement during the evening and
freezing overnight resulting in slick conditions. Snowfall totals
look to be light, with around 1 inch or less from Fairbanks to
the Upper Tanana Valley and up to 2 inches possible in the Alaska
Range and terrain around Fairbanks.

HAZARD...Visibility less than a mile, and snow accumulation up to 1
inch per hour.

IMPACT...Low visibility may pose a hazard to motorists. Accumulating
snow will make travel difficult.
Locations impacted include...
Young Island, Wilcox Point, Shelburne Falls, Hazen Point, Sunset
Island, West Milton, Malletts Bay, Winooski, Conner Bay, Kellogg
Island, Grand Isle State Park, Juniper Island, Hoyt Point, Marble
Island, Halfmoon Cove, Westford, Shelburne Bay, Colchester, Essex
Junction Village, and Great Back Bay.
This includes Interstate 89 between mile markers 80 and 109.

HAZARDS...A band of heavy snow which can rapidly reduce visibility
to less than a quarter of a mile. A quick inch or so of snowfall and
possibile roadway impacts for locations above 1,500 feet.
LOCATION AND MOVEMENT...At 1041 AM EDT, a band of heavy snow was over
Chenango Forks, or near Greater Binghamton Airport moving east at 15
MPH.
LOCATIONS IMPACTED INCLUDE...
Chenango Valley State Park, Belden, Chenango Forks, Coventry, West
Corners, Afton, Chenango Bridge, Port Dickinson, Castle Creek, and
Endwell.
