At 1021 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 14
miles southwest of West Odessa, or 15 miles east of Monahans, moving
northwest at 15 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and nickel size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.
Locations impacted include...
Penwell.
This includes Interstate 20 between mile markers 90 and 102.
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.

At 1037 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated a gust front, capable of
producing winds to around 30 knots. This gust front was located along
a line extending from 10 nm south of Seadrift to 18 nm south of
Malaquite Beach, moving east at 35 knots.
Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher
waves, and lightning strikes. Boaters should seek safe harbor
immediately until these storms pass.
