southwest of Matagorda Island 607 to 17 nm east of Port Aransas to 8
nm east of Malaquite Beach, moving northeast at 20 knots.
HAZARD...Wind gusts 34 knots or greater.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Expect wind gusts in excess of 34 knots, suddenly higher
waves, frequent lightning, and heavy downpours. Make sure
all on board are wearing life jackets.
The front will remain over mainly open waters.
Move to safe harbor until hazardous weather passes.

At 1013 PM PDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 15
miles southwest of Rimrock, or 20 miles southeast of Packwood, moving
north at 40 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and nickel size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.
Locations impacted include...
Rimrock.
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.

- At 1221 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly along Highway FM 186 east and leading into Port
Mansfield. Between 2 and 3 inches of rain have fallen.
- Highway FM 186 and portions of Port Mansfield are the most
likely locations to experience minor flooding. Additional
rainfall amounts up to 2 inches are expected over the area.
This additional rain will result in minor flooding.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Port Mansfield, Port Mansfield Airport and Port Mansfield
Chamber Of Commerce.

* WHAT...Several rounds of heavy rain are likely to cause flash
flooding across the Coastal Plains area. Rainfall amounts of 2 to
4 inches within the Flood Watch area with isolated amounts up to 6
inches possible.
* WHERE...A portion of south central Texas, including the following
counties, Atascosa, De Witt, Gonzales, Karnes, Lavaca and Wilson.
* WHEN...Through Friday afternoon.
* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur
in poor drainage and urban areas.

- Abundant Gulf moisture combined with a slow moving storm
system will bring multiple rounds of scattered to numerous
showers and thunderstorms. Rain will intensify again on
